Ingredients:
For the Pulled Pork:
- 2 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Sliders:
- Slider buns or small sandwich buns
- Coleslaw (optional, for topping)
- Sliced pickles (optional, for topping)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pork:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- Season the pork shoulder or pork butt generously with salt and pepper.
- In an ovenproof pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the pork on all sides until browned.
2. Cook the Pork:
- Remove the seared pork from the pot. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, scraping the bottom to deglaze and pick up any browned bits.
- Return the pork to the pot. Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork, covering it completely.
- Cover the pot with a lid or foil and transfer it to the preheated oven.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, or until the pork is fork-tender and easily pulls apart.
3. Shred the Pork:
- Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a cutting board or a large bowl.
- Use two forks to shred the pork apart. It should easily fall apart due to being tender.
4. Assemble the Sliders:
- Slice the slider buns or small sandwich buns in half horizontally.
- Place a generous amount of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add a spoonful of extra BBQ sauce on top of the pork if desired.
- Optionally, top the pulled pork with coleslaw for a refreshing crunch and sliced pickles for added flavor.
- Place the top half of the bun over the filling to create sliders.
5. Serve and Enjoy:
Arrange the BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders on a platter and serve them warm. These sliders are perfect for gatherings, parties, or a tasty meal, offering a delicious combination of tender, flavorful pulled pork with your favorite toppings!
