Homemade French Fries Recipe


 Ingredients:
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste

Preparing the Potatoes:

  • Wash and peel the potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes into sticks or wedges, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.

Rinsing and Drying:

  • Soak the cut potatoes in cold water.
  • Rinse them well and pat dry thoroughly.

Preheating the Oil:

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 325°F (163°C).

First Fry (Blanching):

  • Fry a handful of potato sticks until lightly golden (3-4 minutes).
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

Second Fry (Final Crispiness):

  • Increase oil temperature to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry partially cooked fries until golden brown and crispy (2-3 minutes).

Draining and Seasoning:

  • Remove fries from oil, drain excess oil, and season with salt while hot.

Serving and Enjoying:

  • Serve hot with your preferred dipping sauces.
