For the Burger Patties:
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 4 hamburger buns
- Sliced cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced onions
- Pickles
- Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions:
Preparing the Burger Patties:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix gently until well combined.
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, slightly larger than the size of the hamburger buns.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Assembling the Hamburgers:
- Slice the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.
- Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add the cooked burger patty on top of the lettuce.
- Layer sliced tomatoes, onions, and pickles on top of the patty.
- If desired, spread ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise on the top half of the buns.
- Place the top half of the bun over the fillings to complete the burgers.
