Homemade Hamburger Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Burger Patties:

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef (80% lean)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Sliced cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced onions
  • Pickles
  • Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise (optional)

Instructions:

Preparing the Burger Patties:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix gently until well combined.
  • Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, slightly larger than the size of the hamburger buns.
  • Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness is reached. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Hamburgers:

  • Slice the hamburger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.
  • Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun.
  • Add the cooked burger patty on top of the lettuce.
  • Layer sliced tomatoes, onions, and pickles on top of the patty.
  • If desired, spread ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise on the top half of the buns.
  • Place the top half of the bun over the fillings to complete the burgers.
